Complexions Contemporary Ballet
Founded by former Alvin Ailey stars Dwight Roden and Desmond Richardson, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, based in New York City, proudly transcends the boundaries of traditional dance, celebrating different styles, cultures, and music to entertain and engage audiences.
Botanica
MOMIX, a decades-old company of dancer-illusionists returns to Utah with Botanica. The company’s artistic director Moses Pendleton’s creative genius brings a new “earthly and otherworldly” multimedia performance. Using larger-than life props, remarkable grace and athleticism, outrageous costumes, projected imagery and an eclectic score (ranging from Vivaldi to birdsong), Botanica is a whimsical homage to nature that overflows with imagination.
The Sugar Show
Join producers Sugar Space and SB Dance for the 4th annual The Sugar Show. This adjudicated series of works by five emerging artists is presented by dance-makers of unique backgrounds and styles.
The Beast of SB Dance: Remix
Join SB Dance for the return of last summer’s hit The Beast of SB Dance. In this “remix,” the incredibly talented cast, including Juan Claudio Carlos, Kate Crews and Nathan Shaw, reinvent some of the fast-paced, intrinsic pieces as well perform new numbers that are sure to leave you awestruck.
Shut Up & Dance
Kicking off the spring season earlier this year, to accommodate their European tour, is Odyssey Dance Company’s annual Shut Up & Dance. The moving and remarkable “Romeo + Juliet” returns with So You Think You Can Dance stars Tadd Gadduang and Ryan Di Lello, as does the popular “Sledgehammer!” program. This year’s “Dancescapes” highlights five pieces by renowned choreographers Dee Caspray, Mandy Moore and Justin Giles.
